I greatly desire to lead someone to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but I don’t know if I can.  Do you have any advice for me?

The truth is that all of us are very insufficient on our own.  The Bible teaches us that God Himself is responsible for the results—not us (1 Cor 3:6).  It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ that is the “power of God unto salvation” (Rom 1:16).  In other words, the effectiveness lies in the Message and not in the messenger.  When we share the Gospel, we are sharing the Message through which the Creator of the Universe works to bring people to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  It is our duty to proclaim the Word and leave the results to God.  So, if you sometimes feel incapable—that is okay.  We are all incapable in ourselves.   However, when we share the Gospel with others we can have confidence because we are serving the Living God—the One with whom all things are possible (Mark 10:27).  Always be careful to let your confidence rest in God and His Word—and not in your abilities.  And know that God has promised blessing upon His Word (See Isaiah 55:11).
